My personal thought before the description that i found on line.
One of the best beaches in Mallorca, but i have seen better colour of the water. The negative about this beach it is the expensive car park, it costs around 3, 4 euros per hour, the sun beds are very expensive too. There are toilets, restaurants and shower, this is missing from a lot of the beaches in Mallorca. It is worth driving here, but make sure you arrive early, it can get really busy in the Summer month. You can take a boat trip from Port de Pollença, during the 2021 i am sure there are much less boats, so you must check that in advance.

Playa de Formentor is a beautiful, Blue-Flag beach located along the Formentor Peninsula in the northern tip of the Mallorca, about 10 kilometres from Port Pollensa. It is considered to be one of the top 20 beaches of Mallorca. Set in one of the wildest and most dramatic of landscapes, with dense pine forests and views of the Tramuntana mountains, Playa de Formentor is a long, skinny, white sand beach, about 1-kilometre long, with sparkling green-blue water. It backs directly onto the pine forests, which can offer a nice bit of shade on hot days. The beach is very popular with tourists who also make their way north for the scenic views at the Cap de Formentor, the farthest point on the island that ends in a lighthouse, and from where on certain days you can see Menorca.

Playa de Formentor is divided into three sections, each of which has their own set prices for lounge chairs and umbrellas, and prices can get quite high in peak summer months. There are showers and toilets on-site as well. There is not a lot of sand on this beach, despite its length, it is quite narrow so it can get quite crowded. The water is shallow and there are rarely waves here, which is nice for small children. Some areas of the beach can get rocky but otherwise, it’s easily accessible. People of all ages enjoy this beach. Families, as well as young people, enjoy its beauty and calm. There are water activities for hire such as paddle boats, windsurfing and SUP equipment, but it’s not too overwhelming with noise or equipment, leaving plenty of room for swimmers and snorkelers. There are a couple of small souvenir shops as well.

There are two restaurants on the beach, one of which is more of a self-service snack bar and the other more upscale with a larger selection of beach food such as pizza, burgers and fish.

Playa de Formentor is easily accessible by car but be prepared to pay a hefty fee for parking, which can go up to 15 euros in the summer. Cyclists and hikers often make their way to this beach as there are great trails and roads nearby for both sports. There is a small dirt path from the parking to the beach, making wheelchair access difficult, but not impossible and with the surrounding trees, there are places to sit in the shade right on the beach. You can also arrive here by bus, via Port Pollensa. The bus stop is near the parking entrance.

If you come by boat, this is a great beach from which to anchor your boat for the day thanks to the water’s depth and sandy base.

In the summer months, there is a lifeguard on duty from 10:00 – 18:00hrs.

Playa de Formentor is one of Mallorca’s prestigious Blue-Flag beaches, and it works hard to maintain its clean and eco-responsible status.
