Playa de Illetas is located about twenty minutes southwest of the island capital Palma. Situated in a wide bay surrounded by overgrown rocks, this central beach in the holiday resort of Illetas is very popular seasonally. No wonder, because Playa de Illetas is probably one of the most famous beaches on Mallorca and a popular alternative to Mallorca’s beach highlights Playa de Palma and Co. Your search for a parking space here can be correspondingly difficult. Once you have reached one of the rare places, however, a reservedly built up, rocky double bay with crystal clear water and a great panorama is waiting for you.

The beach is about 90 m long and 40 m wide, with a light sand beach overlooking a rocky coast covered with pine trees. The background of the beach is an exclusive terrace restaurant, which takes care of your physical well-being. Along the picturesque rocky backdrop in the north of the bay you will find a wide range of services. From various restaurants and boutiques to a beauty salon, almost nothing is left to be desired. The different buildings have been adapted to the different heights of the rocky coast and are thus naturally integrated into the surroundings. The various facilities are easily accessible via small stairs.

This small promenade above the rocky backdrop also leads you to the second, smaller beach of the bay. This was wrested from the rocky coastal landscape and therefore consists mainly of concrete and stone. Here you will find an upscale, larger restaurant and an exclusive beach club that will spoil you with music, cocktails and food. For the service you have to dig a little deeper into your wallet, but you will be rewarded with an exclusive ambience and delicious drinks right next to the couch.

The whole bay is very clean. Many private boats and yachts, whose owners use the large selection of restaurants and boutiques, also anchor in the clear, Caribbean-like water, which is traversed by some deep blue spots. The view of the magnificent anchoring boats reinforces the already glamorous charm that this bay radiates. You will meet younger people who want a touch of luxury and exclusivity during their holidays in Mallorca, and families who can let their children splash around safely thanks to the lifeguards. During the high season, Playa de Illetas is therefore very well visited. Spanish, singles and family holidaymakers, relatively many from Italy, can be found here. Pedal boats and stand-up paddles are available for a fee.
