Aria from 1987 is a compilation film. A number of directors were each given 50,000 pounds to make a short film based on an opera, each showing the director’s choice of visual accompaniment to one or more operatic arias. Jean-Luc Godard chose several arias from Jean-Baptiste Lully opera Armide .

In a gym, two young women working as cleaners are entranced by the muscles of the male bodybuilders, who maintain their concentration even when the women strip.
