Hello Everyone,
This photography subject has been on my mind for a long time, and that is the negative effects of media on our souls and minds. We live in the age of media. Every morning when we wake up, the first thing we go to is our mobile phone. Not to call anyone, but to check our social media accounts. To see what happened in the world in the 6 hours or less that we slept. It seems that we have become addicted to hearing and seeing news and events that more than 90% of them have no impact on our lives. But in reality, we have become addicted. Addicted to virtual life, virtual sex, virtual travel, and every lifestyle that we see in the media and want to experience. Money, power, sex, drugs, luxurious life, murder and slaughter and thousands of other topics that are unfortunately available to us every day and at any moment and we can see them with a simple click. Of course, I don’t want to say that the media is bad. Certainly, their advantages outweigh their disadvantages. But they also have negative effects. Especially if we ourselves are looking for negatives. The problem is that negatives are more enjoyable.
In this photography project, I tried to simulate the symbols to some extent
– The model’s face mask is a symbol of clothing and fashion. Because I believe that the choice of the style of clothing we wear is exactly like a mask we put on our face.
– The old TV is a symbol of media. This addiction started since the invention of television and its entry into our homes and reached a point where we invented smaller televisions (smartphones) that are always with us.
– Money is a symbol of our bank accounts. The expenses we spend on transforming ourselves into the models we see in the media.
– The house, without windows and with closed curtains, is a symbol of hiding who we are and not wanting our weaknesses to be seen.
– The spotlight on the model symbolizes that we are the subject and have been chosen to be what they want us to be.
– And finally, the red theme of the image symbolizes the criticality of the situation.
