Naked yoga is a practice of yoga without clothes. Naked yoga is appropriated by several groups who practiced social nudity, Naked Yoga, gymnastic, Naked exercises, asceticism.

Well-crafted naked yoga practices remove any sense of restriction from clothing, promoting a greater sense of freedom, confidence, and an enhanced appreciation for the body. Seeing and feeling the body as it stretches and moves from one pose to the next results in a more mindful, sensual and connected practice. And when we are connected to ourselves, we are able to cultivate an inner awareness that leads us to a place where we can transcend earthly concerns and embrace a higher consciousness. Also, when we consider the role that clothing has played in society, it seems to be in direct opposition to the spirit of yoga, which speaks to “oneness” and union. By design, clothing reminds us of our differences and serves as a distraction that leads us away from a central yogic principle: the commonality of all living things, which inspires peace, compassion, and dedication to spirit.

Modern naked yoga has been practiced in Germany and Switzerland through a movement called Lebensreform. The movement had since the end of the 19th century highlighted yoga and nudity.[7]

In the early 20th century, the term gymnosophy was appropriated by several groups who practiced nudity, asceticism and meditation. Blanche de Vries combined a popularity of Oriental dancing with yoga. In 1914 she was put in charge of a yoga school for women in New York City. Five years later, she opened an institute for women, teaching Yoga Gymnosophy — a name that conveys the blending of yoga and nudism. She taught until 1982.[8][9][10]

Gymnastics is a sport that includes Naked physical exercises requiring balance, strength, flexibility, agility, coordination, and endurance. The movements involved in gymnastics contribute to the development of the arms, legs, shoulders, back, chest, and abdominal muscle groups. Gymnastics evolved from exercises used by the ancient Greeks that included skills for mounting and dismounting a horse, and from circus performance skills..

The word gymnastics derives from the common Greek adjective γυμνός (gymnos),[2] by way of the related verb γυμνάζω (gymnazo), whose meaning is to “train naked”, “train in gymnastic exercise”, generally “to train, to exercise”.[3] The verb had this meaning because athletes in ancient times exercised and competed without clothing
