Doing “Salute to the sun” (otherwise known as “Surya Namaskar”) is a great way to begin a nude yoga session. It is commonly performed in the morning to greet the new day as the sun rises in the east, but it can be performed at any time of the day. The complete practice consists of a set of 8 different postures, each with its own distinct muscle stretches. Each stretch moves gently into the other so that the entire sequence has a certain sort of poetic beauty to it. As in all yoga postures, the breath is synchronized with the movements of the body.
