Hello friends,
Before I talk about lighting and technical issues in this photography, I would like to talk about the common questions that people always ask me.
– What kind of body type should a model have for nude photography?
– How tall should a model be?
– Why are your models so skinny?
– Why are they so fat?
And hundreds of other questions that are all related to the appearance of the models. But after 18 years of photography, especially nude photography, I realized that I always took my best photos with models who were strong, confident, and happy with themselves. Of course, I don’t mean being happy with themselves to be arrogant or narcissistic. In my opinion, even if a person has high standards in terms of external beauty, if they are not beautiful on the inside, they cannot even show off their external beauty. My model today was the same. Although she had no experience in modeling and was a singer, I was very happy with the results of the photos and overall the photography was very easy.
Regarding the lighting in this photo shoot, I used a flash with a snoot and a honeycomb to light the face to make the face brighter than the body. A flash with a softbox was also used from above the model’s head, but with less power than the snoot light, to light the entire body. Of course, I tried to make its light less directed towards the background so that I could have a grayer background. The third flash with a focusing modifier shines from behind towards the model so that the model’s body can be separated from the background.
