Man, woman, picnic, except there’s no park, they’re sitting naked in a dark room. “It would be silly to say I fell in love with you that day, but, the way I remember it…I guess I fell in love with you that day,” the man says, with the elevated speech of a bygone era, describing the wonderful first day of being in love with his lady friend, a day she remembers differently.

A quick-hitting, satrical sketch about the formalities of communication and the discrepancy between memories. It’s also about a woman wresting control of the male-controlled narrative of courtship by refusing to justify his simplified version of falling in love. Instead, she goes on a rant about his small, weird, old-tasting dick, poisoning her, trying to control her.

It’s funny, smart stuff, carried by two highly committed lead performances. Directed by William Welles. (6 minutes) *Official Selection Slamdance 2015*
