SHOWER TOUR | Naked Andrea Éva Győri tries out our bathroom

Andrea Éva Győri was born in Budapest, Hungary (1985), studied in Stuttgart by Christian Jankowski (head curator of the Manifesta 11 in 2016) and Mike Bouchet in ABK Stuttgart, Germany. She works in her artistic practice with issues like society problems, acceptance and rejection in the society as an individual (or) as an artist. Her interests are themes like well-being, health, mental – physical- diseases. In her drawings and performances she works about topics that are related to diseases, identities – society and political problems.

In her practice she often does research or makes critics in different sarcastic and humoristic ways, about questions that are actually problematic for our behaviour, phobia in private life and in the society, like mental and physical fears of things as viruses, cancer or shame of sexuality.

Since 2012 Győri has been going on a Shower Tour, Celebrities from the art community such as Paul McCarthy and Johan Holten have participated. Shower Tour exhibited at Kassel Documenta 13, Venice Biennale Hungarian Pavilion, and other diverse exhibition spaces – this year Andrea took a shower at our office!
