NOT ALL WARS ARE VISIBLE /Harry Koushos

Original was uploaded on 2024-12-21

The piece NOT ALL WARS ARE VISIBLE offers a clear instruction to the audience from the outset: shout the word STOP if you believe a woman is in danger. Five female dancers move in the space between the divided-into-two audience, at times with their eyes closed, at other times with them open, blurring the lines between choreography-performance and real danger. The performance gives the audience the power to influence and determine the outcome, the tension and even its ending. What, after all, is war, and where does it manifest? Is it right before our eyes, or within ourselves?
