Mallorca, or Majorca is the largest island in the Balearic Islands, which are part of Spain and located in the Mediterranean.

The capital of the island, Palma, is also the capital of the autonomous community of the Balearic Islands. The Balearic Islands have been an autonomous region of Spain since 1983. There are two small islands off the coast of Mallorca: Cabrera (southeast of Palma) and Dragonera (west of Palma). The anthem of Mallorca is “La Balanguera”.

Like the other Balearic Islands of Menorca, Ibiza and Formentera, the island is an extremely popular holiday destination, particularly for tourists from Germany and the United Kingdom. The international airport, Palma de Mallorca Airport, is one of the busiest in Spain; it was used by 28 million passengers in 2017, with use increasing every year since 2012.

1. CALA AGULLA is located on the Artá peninsula due north of the holiday town of Cala Ratjada, making it one of the easternmost beaches on Mallorca.

The beach in general
Cala Agulla is a wonderful beach and its breath-taking position, nestled between forests and mountains, makes it a proper natural beach.

The beach is about 500 metres long and 50 metres wide. It offers bright, fine sand and clear water with a gorgeous blue and turquoise hue.

2.PAYA DE FORMENTOR is a beautiful, Blue-Flag beach located along the Formentor Peninsula in the northern tip of the Mallorca, about 10 kilometres from Port Pollensa. It is considered to be one of the top 20 beaches of Mallorca. Set in one of the wildest and most dramatic of landscapes, with dense pine forests and views of the Tramuntana mountains, Playa de Formentor is a long, skinny, white sand beach, about 1-kilometre long, with sparkling green-blue water. It backs directly onto the pine forests, which can offer a nice bit of shade on hot days. The beach is very popular with tourists who also make their way north for the scenic views at the Cap de Formentor, the farthest point on the island that ends in a lighthouse, and from where on certain days you can see Menorca.

3.ES TRENC is located in the southern part of Mallorca between the very small town Ses Covetes and the larger holiday resort Colonia Sant Jordi.

The beach in general
Es Trenc is the most famous beach in Mallorca and the last large natural beach, which is not spoiled by big hotels and dozens of restaurants. The beach is now located in a national park, so hopefully no hotels or the like will be built close to the beach in the future
