The ‘explosion of ‘Clothing Haul’ content on YouTube is no surprise, and become an ART form of itself in a way. It also is no surprise the commercialisation of this genre of media was not long to follow. ART itself is a commercial commodity and this helps fund artists and art organisations etc. Some YouTubers, themselves, are also befitting from this commercialisation, often becoming ‘influencers’ for certain companies and/or brands. I am not sure if this is the case here and we therefore touch on the topic of Sexploitation in ART, which certainly has it’s place in ART, both historically and now. Here we also have Roleplay as the attractive girl ‘acts like your girlfriend.

ART CLASS – FUSION ART – Fusion ART, is the phrase used for the ‘fusing’ together of two or more ART forms, in this case ASMR with Body Painting. This is NOT to be confused with the term, ART Fusion. Art fusion occurs when an artist (from any field – music, literature, architecture, fine art, design, graffiti, etc.) collaborates with a brand (of any kind – product, service, fashion, charity) to create a product, service, concept or ‘piece’ (for lack of a less pigeon-holing word) for the benefit of both parties and society as a whole.

ART CLASS – WHAT IS A ‘HAUL’ ? – Simply put, it is when a YouTuber, tries on clothes and reviews them for their audience. It is refreshing to see that items are NOT always recommended and this gives the viewer confidence in what they may or may not purchase. Some feel this type of commercialisation leads to peer pressure, but ultimately no one is forcing anyone to purchase or indeed watch the channel. Famous people such as Kim Kardashian can have a massive impact on a companies sales.
