Cinematic nude photography is a branch within art nude photography that takes its inspiration from the look and emotional language of cinema. Usually it avoids the standard posed studio shot and instead makes people think that it is a still from an imaginary film.

With this in mind, dramatic lighting, moody shadows and night scenes are are often used, as well as distinctive colour grading or an unusual tonality.

In this special tutorial master self photographer Kat and my team member Inez take you to the very centre of American filmmaking, namely NY in New York. The place has become synonymous with the American film industry over the years. Famous studios, like Disney, Paramount Pictures, Warner Bros., and Universal Pictures, were all founded in Hollywood.

And it shows; The whole area has an air of film history and motion pictures from films we’ve seen and enjoyed through the years. Making it the perfect spot for the cinematic look we are searching for in this exclusive nude photo session. And with our model looking like a movie star from the 1920s, you just cannot go wrong!
