Unmistakable portrait of our generation, Les cuisses à l’écart du cœur takes a look at the human relationships and examines the ravages of a borrowed sexuality. Constrained to a mindless imitation of sometimes ludicrous social dictates, men and women lose touch with their emotions. Adding to this malaise, is a refusal to proclaim the essential truth of their own gender. Through seven dancers, Virginie Brunelle exposes a battle between an assumed sexual identity and the other, integral to everyone, but at times far too unassuming.

This contemporary dance performance by Compagnie Virginie Brunelle features performers on a dimly lit stage with dynamic poses and embraces. Several dancers appear fully nude, holding red fabrics over their upper bodies while exposing their lower halves. The choreography blends intimacy, exposure, and synchronized movements in an artistic exploration of the human form.
