We purchased this baby with a view of promoting it to our new on the go camera (to replace venerable Sony x3000). Our previous attempt to find replacement for Sony was DJI Osmo Action. We found the little Osmo very cool but lacking in the color science and audio departments.
This is not a proper review per se but more like a few of our thoughts and observations based on a few days’ worth of footage. We put GoPro 9 to the test in various lighting conditions. Video was filmed completely on GoPro9 in full auto mode in 4K 30p Linear+Horizon Leveling except for a few short cuts where camera itself is in frame, like the intro (shot on Sony RX100m7 and iPhone 11 Pro Max) We used built in microphones throughout since GoPro9 decided to forget to implement support for external mics in the release firmware (ha-ha). Video is completely unadulterated while the audio was enhanced.
