Hysterical Literature is a video art series by NYC-based photographer and filmmaker Clayton Cubitt. It explores feminism, mind/body dualism, distraction portraiture, and the contrast between culture and sexuality. (It’s also just really fun to watch.)
Stoya sits at a simple table in a stark black-and-white studio, reading aloud from a book with focused intensity. Her expressions shift from composed concentration to broad grins and ecstatic laughter as arousal builds. This session captures the Hysterical Literature challenge, where she recites through mounting pleasure peaking around the 5:30 mark.
