In diesem Jahr mussten wir einen zutiefst tragischen Verlust hinnehmen. Der Mitbegründer unseres Festivals, unser Freund und Begleiter Ismael Ivo, ist am 8. April 2021 unerwartet und plötzlich an COVID-19 in São Paulo verstorben. Wir gedachten am 1. August 2021 im Wiener Volkstheater diesem Ausnahmekünstler und Tanzvermittler. Wir möchten uns bei allen Beteiligten und Anwesenden für diesen besonderen Abend bedanken!

This year, we had to face a deeply tragic loss. The co-founder of our festival, our friend and companion Ismael Ivo, was taken away by the second COVID wave in São Paulo on 8 April 2021. We commemorated this exceptional artist and dance mediator on 1 August 2021 at Volkstheater Vienna. We would like to thank everyone involved and present at this special evening!

This theatrical tribute to dancer Ismael Ivo blends avant-garde dance, spoken word, music, and visual art on dimly lit stages. Performers include a mature blond man reading and gesturing, a woman in stylized barefoot walks, and musicians playing clarinet and violin. Sequences feature dynamic poses amid props like grass, rose petals, and projections, with artistic nudity integrated into the choreography.
