My themes for this project are life and fantasy, and I chose to combine natural locations and imagery with surreal horror aesthetics. These are presented as hallucinations which take place while a girl bathes in a field, embracing nature and purity, yet still unable to escape the complexities of her psyche. This piece is a demonstration of the contrast between the body and the mind. I’ve kept a dream journal throughout this project which has encouraged me to explore the unusual creations of the brain, and any seemingly misplaced imagery in this piece is inspired by the reality of how strange dreams can get, and the fact that a lot of the time, they don’t make sense. A dream is an accidental work of art.
