Why Does A Breast Lift Get Better With Breast Implants? Dr. Robert Caridi Explains

Original was uploaded on 2020-08-26

Dr. Robert Caridi of Westlake Plastic Surgery shows how a breast lift procedure is drastically improved by adding breast implants. Contrary to popular belief, “you cannot raise saggy breast tissue” explains Dr. Caridi. To return saggy breasts to their younger, perkier appearance, a breast lift should be combined with breast implants.

The patient in this video presented with glandular ptosis – the sagging of the breast tissue. The patient wants her breasts to appear lifted and more projected and wants to tighten the breast tissue.

The following are the most common reasons to consider a breast lift with implants:

1. You want your breasts located higher on your chest.
2. Your breasts have become saggy and lost fullness.
3. Your breasts are larger than average but sit quite low and you want them higher with the, same, more or less volume.
4. You want your breasts to stand up on their own.
5. You like the sound of “higher, tighter and perkier” breasts.
6. You want more up top and less on the bottom.
7. Your current breast shape and size makes you look matronly.
8. Your breast size or shape is uneven.
9. You would prefer that your nipples don’t look downward.
10. Your breast skin is loose and stretched and your breasts feel empty.
11. You lost your waist as your breasts became saggy.
12. You want to look good in your workout clothing without a padded bra.
13. You prefer to put your bra on your breasts and not put your breasts into your bra.
14. You want what you had back then.

A classic breast lift with implants procedure is typically performed using a “vertical” approach, which means that the final scar is small and shaped like a lollipop. First, the predetermined implant of choice is placed below the pectoralis muscle, which establishes a new foundation for the breast and will always be located higher on the breast. The breast lift portion of the procedure is then performed, which rotates the nipple-areola complex the most ideal position on the new face of the breast. Finally, excess skin and tissue are removed to tighten the breast and optimize the shape.

When we check-in after the procedure, nurse Lacy and Dr. C evaluate the patient’s results to the goals they had set before the breast lift with implants procedure. As explained, the patient’s breasts are now perkier, higher on her chest (as evident by the relation of her mole to the breast), rounder, less “boxiness”, more projection, superior fullness, smaller areolas, a larger overall size and that “bling” factor. This is precisely what the patient was looking for and she can be much more confident about her appearance, having no problem wearing clothes that show off her new features.
